' Pat Quinn the ‘by default’ governor of Illinois (replacing the corrupt Blago after his ouster) has ignored the voters and backed Shiela Simon for Lt governor after the Lt. governor that won the democratic nomination had to withdraw in scandal (Illinois at it’s best here again). Quinn should have backed Art Turner who actually ran for Lt. Gov and came in second in the vote - why this was even up for ‘discussion’ is beyond me (oh wait it’s Illinois, I almost forgot).

From the Wall Street Journal on January 26th:
“Ten of the 13 big beneficiaries of the Treasury Department’s Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP, saw their outstanding loan balances decline by a total of about $46 billion, or 1.4%, between the third and fourth quarters of 2008…. This is even as they scooped up $148 billion in taxpayer TARP funds intended to stimulate lending.”

I like Obama, but…
This stimulus plan is the old Democrats at work - riding on Obama’s good-will, and they might just use it all up in one fell swoop.
I love Jay Leno’s name for Illinois’ nutcase of a governor.
Can you believe the latest - this guy hits the talk show circuit rather than show up at his own impeachment trial. Someone said they are wondering about the governor’s mental state. Well, I’m not wondering - this guy is certifiably nuts.
Can we just fire the senate?
I mean really - who do they think they are? Why do they think they they can dictate union busting because they have foreign auto makers in their states without unions. Do these bozos have any idea what they are doing? Do they really think the foreign auto companies can survive in the US if all their suppliers are half broke with production a shambles because the US auto makers are gone?
Can you believe Blagojevich? He’s the governor of Illinois who was arrested yesterday for corruption. I live in Illinois, so this is all I’ve been listening to on the news for the last two days.
I had the eerie thought this week that maybe this whole economic mess is a figment of the media’s imagination (that’s the bright side way of saying… maybe we are being manipulated?).
I know I’m being picky… but, since I’ve been using Wordpress for real (about a week) - there has been one Wordpress update (and this is not including the ‘other’ one during my month of ‘test’ time), one update to my chosen theme, and one update to one of the plug-ins I’m using.
