Yup, today I have the review, comment, and rating php script done, tested,
and up and working (knock on wood) — the comments should be just pouring in.
PHP hint: always use double quotes around separators — why? I don’t really know, but implode and explode won’t work with single quoted separators.
So, how do you convince 5 kids that unemployment comp doesn’t even cover the bills, yet
alone leave anything for a vacation?
There’s only three weeks left till school, so unless God provides an unexpected windfall - looks like vacation in the backyard this summer.
I’ve almost got it done — this is the new and hopefully improved version of me-blog-zone.
Sporting the nifty blosxom v2.0 under the hood, this baby is loaded with power.
It took me more time to fiddle with the site design (let me know what you think) than to get the wonderful blosxom up and running.
Well, it started in March - it’s now July - and last weekend was the last
roadtrip (he’s on a traveling team this year) for my oldest son’s baseball team. I do like baseball, but he’s
17 and he’s been playing since he was 6. And since high school started, he’s been playing spring, summer, and fall (of course in winter there’s basketball).
If you are looking for a CMS script for your website — hold on to your hats!
OpenSourceCMS has over 40 of the most popular set up on their site so you
can try them out without installing them on your site — what an excellent idea.
An interesting perspective on how H-1B visa holders
qualify for Social Security - I guess the India Times
is ‘in the know’ - but I can’t say I’ve seen much reported on back here in old U S A:
I.B.M. Explores Shift of White-Collar Jobs Overseas
By STEVEN GREENHOUSE
With American corporations under increasing pressure to cut costs and
build global supply networks, two senior I.B.M. officials told their
corporate colleagues around the world in a recorded conference call
that I.B.M. needed to accelerate its efforts to move white-collar,
often high-paying, jobs overseas even though that might create a
backlash among politicians and its own employees.
One of the biggest pains being unemployed (aside from no money) is insurance. With 5 kids, health insurance seems like a necessity — but after hitting the 6 month unemployment mark, the rate has skyrocketed for the Cobra premium — and my old employer has a once a year sign up window, so changing to a cheaper plan under Cobra is impossible.
Ken Evoy is the latest to sing the Google AdSense praises as the
salvation of the small ebiz. I have to admit, AdSense fits in with what Ken has been saying for years - content is king, build a theme-based content site and the money will follow. Since AdSense fits right in with the Site Sell motto and philosophy, so I shouldn’t be surprised by the ‘praise singing’.
