I grew up saying “Beam Me Up, Scotty.” I grew older alternating between “Calgon, Take Me Away” and “Beam Me Up, Scotty” whenever the world got to be too much. (Like commercials and slogans don’t have any impact on the subconscious…)
Any women out there who are having ‘trouble’ with menopause, you need to read this article about natural progesterone.

In the last three years, profits at the seven largest companies in
Silicon Valley by market value have increased by an average of more
than 500 percent while Santa Clara County employment has declined.
During the previous economic recovery, between
1995 and 1997, the county, which is the heart of Silicon Valley, added more than 82,800 jobs.
The increase in (corporate) profits “has been very dramatic, but there’s no job
growth,” said Doug Henton, president of Collaborative Economics, a
regional consulting company.
Finally, a study which proves I’m right - there is no such thing as multi-tasking for the human brain.
Peak performance means the ability to concentrate, which means doing one thing at a time. Here’s the study:
If you’ve had your head under a rock for the last couple of days, maybe you haven’t heard about the supreme court ruling that the government can now seize your property (read house) for commercial development if they want it. Well, that’s just great - they could always take it for ‘government’ needs/wants, but now they don’t even have to go to the trouble of pretending - they can just up and take your house away for anything they want (and call it a commercial development). Better stay on the good side of your local government leaders, or they’ll come and take your house away.
Congress is now considering legislation that could make a safe and effective dietary supplement, DHEA, illegal by classifying it as an anabolic steroid. DHEA is not an anabolic steroid. It is a naturally occurring hormone that has a wide range of benefits, including maintaining muscle strength and strong bones, boosting immunity, and improving mood and sleep patterns. Further studies suggest that DHEA may be helpful for such conditions as obesity, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. DHEA dietary supplements are derived from a plant in the wild yam family. As an advocate of using dietary supplements for good health, I hope you’ll join me in opposing S. 1137.
The US has fallen to 16th in global broadband penetration - at least according to ITU-T (the international standards organization who’d supposed to know such things). But, Bush is disputing their finding… On what I’d hate to guess - maybe just because he thinks we should be doing better. Well, George, you’re right - we should be - but we aren’t. And why? Because you‘ve let the telecom industry suffer a depression - yup, I said it - the dreaded ‘D’ word. But anyone who is remotely invlolved with telecom knows I’m 100% right. Telecom has been in a DEPRESSION since 2001, and shows no sign of coming back to life - at least not in the US. In Bangalore India, on the other hand, the telecom industry is booming. Why? Well, that one is easy - they’ve got all our jobs!
Cafta - the Central American Free Trade Agreement - is set to pass into law soon.
That is unless someone (read you and me) starts letting congressmen and women know that if they shaft the American worker again we’ll… Lay down and die, roll over and play dead, stick our collective head in the sand and ignore what’s goin on… That’s what has been happening so far, and I say enough is enough! It’s time to act.
Heres the lastest piece of the evidence:
Getting fired during your peak earning years has always been scary.
You’d scramble for a few months, but you’d find something. Today it’s
different. Get fired (aka laid off, downsized, FMPd…) and you can scramble for years-and still find
nothing. Welcome to the cold new world of the prematurely,
involuntarily retired.

I haven’t been moaning about the gas prices - because I don’t use much gas anymore!
I don’t have to drive 65 miles to work anymore… Ok, I didn’t have to drive that 65 miles more than once or twice a month anyway, since I was a telecommuting pioneer. I will never drive more than 10 miles to ‘work’ ever again, and that is a promise. I admit I drive 5 miles to work teaching at the local college, but since I have my business at home it’s all deductible.
